Bottle Concept for Viscous Consumables

We have all scraped an empty bottle of ghee, honey or jam. There are days when we want a spread of our favorite jam for breakfast, but found the bottle almost empty. We scrape the bottle with a spoon, hoping to collect what is left, but the elliptical shape of spoons is not ideal for scraping straight walled cylindrical bottles. We either struggle and collect what is left or think of something else to eat.

Similarly, when I wanted to add ghee to the dish I was cooking, my bottle had little ghee left. I scraped the walls of the bottle with a spoon, and tried to collect whatever I could. In the end, pouring some hot water into the bottle was the only solution.

I have tried to imagine a bottle which would allow a spoon to easily scrape its walls when required.

The packaging of viscous consumables like ghee, jams or honey can be designed to have contoured walls allowing users to scrape the last bits in the bottle with ease. This way, the experience of consuming the product will be satisfying till the last bite. A Purposeful design can elevate user experience and create lasting goodwill for brands.
